Ulu Raia Falls is an almost vertical multi-level waterfall series that is located on the upstream of the long & powerful Sg Raia/Raya river. This river flows down from the peaks of Cameron Highland, a popular tourist destination where hundreds of travelers drive up and down via a curvy mountain pass without knowing that there are countless beautiful waterfalls in the region. Ulu Raia Falls & Bubok Falls are one such example that does not require a tough hike. This waterfall is however NOT suitable for beginners to attempt without guidance due to the unmarked & raw nature of the trail. Visitors should also be aware of weather patterns for the day before starting the hike as the region is known for heavy downpours.

Head to Ipoh as the nearest landmark town. The trailhead is near the state border between Perak & Pahang. It is accessible via Simpang Pulai from the west or via Blue Valley from the east. Visitors can head to a tourist attraction that replicates a village from the popular film "The Lord of the Rings". There are parking spaces (here) where visitors can park. Ensure to park responsibly to not be an inconvenience to others. Proceed by foot from here on out.

Walk back out to the main road. Down the street near the tourist attraction is a bridge pass.(Image 1.) There is a small trail on the left side of the bridge where visitors can follow a visible footpath. Follow the trail for roughly 300m before splitting off to get down to the river. The junction down to the river is not obvious and may require bushwhacking. The waterfall will be in sight not far off after a short river trek.
To exit, use the same entry trail.

Exploration Notes : There are obvious waterfall levels upstream that can been seen at a further view point but the landscape is very steep and dangerous. Besides the Bubok Falls on the left tributary, there are also 2 smaller cascade falls downriver that may be of interest to some visitors. They are documented below.
