The region of Kenaboi is well known for some interesting waterfalls & nature attractions. One of them is Lata Dinding Fall, which is a 2 tier drop segmented type waterfall. Despite its uncommon & interestingly tall waterfall formation, it is the least popular waterfall compared to Lata Kijang & Jeram Berungut due to the long & demanding jungle trail which requires significant effort to reach. Water volume may vary depending on the weather seasons due to its smaller than average water catchment size which might impact how impressive it appears. Visitors should also be aware that the wet smooth rock surfaces can be very slippery and extra caution is needed when approaching the waterfall. This waterfall is NOT suitable for beginners due to its physically demanding long trail.

Lata Dinding Fall

Head to Kg Chennah as the nearest landmark village. From the small roundabout take the junction towards Kg. Esok. A well paved road with some scenic mountain views passes several riverside campsites and leads visitors to the interior which ends at Taman Negeri Kenaboi. (here) There are plenty of parking spaces here but it can get quite crowded during weekend holidays. Register yourself at the counter and pay for the forestry permit on the spot before starting the hike.

Start the hike by following the tarred single track jungle trail. After passing a small bridge, visitors will reach a Y-junction. Take the right uphill trail going to Gunung Besar Hantu & Lata Dinding Fall. The left trail goes to Lata Kijang Fall. Scale the continuous uphill slope before reaching the peak where the elevation levels out. Continue following on the main path without deviating to any side paths where visitors will arrive at a checkpoint clearing. This checkpoint is called Kem Sg. Kering (3.20711, 101.99381) where there are 2 junctions here. One of the path which does not require crossing the stream on the right continues in deeper into the jungle (to Gng Besar Hantu & Kering Falls), while a second junction continues beyond the stream crossing ahead.

Cross the stream and continue following the main trail to Lata Dinding. Visitors will next reach a T-junction (Image 1.), where this junction is a convergence of an earlier side path. Take a right here and head north along the main trail. Keep following the main trail before finally reaching another small stream crossing.(Image 2.) This is the final stream crossing where it also serves as a convenient checkpoint for the last 1km to Lata Dinding Fall. Ensure to branch off the main trail towards the waterfall on the right once visitors can hear the sound of the stream close by. The tall waterfall is also clearly visible when visitors are getting close. If visitors miss this junction, u-turn and double back or visitors will end up going towards Lembah Jemeloi which is a long trek that connects to Janda Baik, Pahang.
To exit, follow the same entry trail.
