Kuang Falls is a roughly 4m height small waterfall on the western side of Lagong forest reserve. Frequently visited by hikers attempting the Bukit Lagong trail, it is not the only attraction along the Kuang river. There is also a mid sized pool with a short cascade fall nicknamed Lubuk Bunian that is popular with the local youths downriver. Included in the description are several cascade falls at a nearby side tributary river without any known name. This waterfall has no clearly marked trails and visitors who are not familiar with jungle trails are at risk of getting lost. Beginners are not advised to attempt this waterfall without guidance.
Kuang Falls
Head to Kuang town as the nearest landmark and proceed to Kg Orang Asli Ulu Kuang (here). The village road is narrow, visitors should be respectful towards local folk and take precaution while driving in. At the edge of the village is a palm oil estate with some clearings between the trees, visitors can park here as the road deeper in is offroad and not suitable for normal sedan cars. Ensure to park without obstructing others using the road. Proceed by foot from here on out.
Proceed inward on the dirt road and keep left on the 1st junction. There is a popular recreational spot here (Image 1.) where local folk come to hang out and is safe for children as well. Proceed on the main trail where visitors will come upon an orchard with a gate. There is a panel missing in the gate where visitors can duck and slip across. (There is also an alternative side trail beside the river) There is a visible trail thru the grassy plains where visitors will be jungle trekking beside the river. As visitors proceed along the trail, take note of a left side trail junction. Should visitors be interested, this leads to a small cascade fall with a mid sized pool nearby.(Image 2.) The pool is deep enough for swimming but the cascade is too short to be considered a waterfall. Otherwise continue along the main trail and continue upriver. Kuang Falls will be in sight on the left.
