Ali Fall is a scenic waterfall that is one of the 3 popular waterfall attractions on Tioman Island. Tioman island is located on the east coast of Rompin Dsitrict, Pahang. It is only accessible via ferry from either Mersing or Tanjung Gemok. It has a small airport that operated small planes in the past but is no longer an option. Ali Fall is a decently sized roughly 4-5meters tall waterfall in shady surroundings with a neck deep pool suitable for swimming. Water volume may vary depending on the weather seasons. The trail to the waterfall itself is very short, about 5mins walk, but the entrance of the trailhead is some distance away from any village nearby with the nearest being Kg Juara (about 2.2km away). Other than walking to the trailhead, there is also the option to hire local tour operators that provide land tours which include Ali Fall in the travel itinerary.
This waterfall is suitable for beginners to visit without guidance.

Ali Fall

As of 2025, there is only one way to reach Tioman Island which is by ferry. There are no commercial flights to Tioman Island. There are 2 ferry service operators, Cata Ferry and Bluewater Ferry that departs from either Tanjung Gemuk (Pahang side border) or Mersing (Johor side town). Visitors also need to be aware that Tioman Island consist of 7 villages either on the east, west and south of the island which are not completely interconnected by road access. Depending on the ferry operator & seating capacity, the ferry will not be stopping at every village and visitors will have to arrange further transport either by rental motorcycles, island taxis (pickup trucks) or by speedboat. Head to the trailhead of Ali Fall using the access road between Kg Tekek & Juara. This road is a concrete slab 2 way traffic narrow road that cuts across the mountain slopes of Tioman island to connect the west and the east side of the island. It is possible to walk by foot on this road to the trailhead where sections of it are quite steep at 45° angle. Visitors may also use island taxi services or rent a manual/semi auto motorcycle to reach the trailhead (here - Image 1.).
Follow the clear trail down the slope where visitors will end up at the riverside where the Ali Fall is in view.

Exploration Notes :
There is a shorter height cascade level above Ali Fall. No other waterfalls of significance has been found upriver or downriver of Ali Fall.
