Gemas Falls is a series of cascade falls on the northern mountain slopes of Gunung Ledang. The waterfall series consist of a continuous cascade fall before ending at a taller sloped cascade fall similar in characteristics with Puteri Falls. Gemas Falls is the sibling of Asahan Fall which is on the left tributary stream; while Gemas Falls is on the right tributary stream. Unlike Asahan Fall which has a clearer established trail, Gemas Falls trail is very vague due to having few visitors and is longer in terms of hike distance. This waterfall is NOT suitable for beginners to attempt. Visitors who wish to visit this waterfall are highly advised to hire a guide due to the often challenging and wild trails that require bushwhacking.

Head to Simpang Bekoh town as the nearest landmark. It is accessible by many approaches. Either from Nyalas, Selandar, Jasin or Tangkak. From Simpang Bekoh town, navigate to Asahan Water Theme Park (here). Opposite the theme park is the registration entrance for visitors hiking up Gng Ledang via Asahan, skip this entrance and proceed down the road further where visitors will pass a bridge. On the right is a junction up a soil offroad hill, avoid driving up this road if it is wet or wet weather is expected during the exit phase. This soil trail can be very soft and mucky after a heavy rain shower, making it very slippery and possibly trapping vehicles. If visitors are able to drive in, there is a large clearing inside where plenty of vehicles can park. Otherwise park outside by the road shoulder perperly without obstructing passing traffic. Proceed by foot from here on out.

The starting point of the trail is straight forward. Head inside where a small weir is found (Image 1). Use the weir as a bridge to cross the river to the left side of the river where an established trail going to Asahan Fall is found. Follow this trail up to the river confluence @ 2.40179, 102.59472. Here is where the Asahan & Gemas Fall trail splits. Cross to the right side of the river (on the right tributary stream) where there is a faint trail going deeper into the jungle. There are no standout landmarks along the way up to (2.39249, 102.59512) where there is a large sloped rockface (Image 2) that is both tall and long. Continue upriver via riverside trek where the 1st cascade fall is found.(Image 3.) This cascade fall has a tannin pool and rock stacked landscape.

The landscape up ahead deeper in is a very strange one. A row of tall stacked rocks neatly piled up like a wall seems to obstruct any passage forward.(Image 4.) Rather unique and on the left most section of these wall of rocks is a small stream flowing down a slope forming a waterfall. Visitors can follow this small stream upriver where there is a faint trail going up the hill trail on the right. Up ahead there are more big rocks, one such landmark is found @ 2.38970, 102.59546 (Image 5.) Like a large elephant, its presence is in contrast with the jungle surroundings. Further up visitors will find a ditch where the faint trail crosses a tree root bridge. (Image 6.)

The waterfall series is close and by river trekking, visitors will find a continuous cascade fall.(Image 7.) This cascade fall stretches a long distance one after another making it hard to identify and categorize if it is one single fall or multiple linked ones. Visitors will finally arrive at a V-shaped pool flanked on both sides by tall rock sloped cliffs. Gemas Falls 2 is found right above this pool accessible by scaling up the left side of the rock slope. On top of this slope, visitors will get a nice view point of the Gemas Falls 2 which shares similar characteristics to Puteri Falls. Tall and moderately wide but slightly sloped and stretched out, masking its true beauty.(Image 8.)

To exit, use the same trail as per entry hike.
