Anak Semong Falls
Anak Semong Falls is a medium height near vertical fan / cascade type waterfall. There is no pool at its immediate base but smaller soaking pools do exist nearby. This waterfall has a smaller than average water catchment, hence water flow may vary depending on season. Visitors will have to navigate thru a series of oil palm plantation network paths before diverging down to the river and continue the rest via river trekking. This waterfall is NOT suitable for beginners and visitors are highly advised to engage a guide who is famillar with the area.
Head to Kg Chennah as the landmark. From the small roundabout take the junction towards Kg. Esok. (Image 1) A well paved road with some scenic mountain views passes several riverside campsites and leads visitors to the interior which goes to Lata Kijang waterfall. At a split Y-junction on the outskirts of Kg Tohor, take the left road to reach the starting point of the trail head.(here) On the left there is a narrow dirt road.(Image 2) DO NOT drive inwards as there is no parking beyond this point and the ground may be muddy. Park around the vicinity of the junction by the side of the road without obstructing passing traffic. There are limited parking spaces here, larger groups will have to spread out and park else where.
On the way in to the main waterfall, there is a smaller cascade fall. (Image 4.) It is documented below.
