Terentang Falls is a waterfall series consisting of 3 documented waterfalls that have remained under the radar unknown to most hikers who ply the same route to Bukit Ayer Paroi. The 1st fall has a medium sized pool that is formed by an old water catchment dam which is no longer in use. This waterfall and its corresponding stream has no known name. It flows into and joins the adjacent Sg. Gadut stream, hence the oil palm estate name (Terentang Estate) which the river flows thru is adopted as its name.

Sharing the same entrance access as Air Terjun Dara Falls, there are signs of regular visits by visitors who have established 2 different trails either by river trekking or by a hill trail. Unlike Dara Falls, this waterfall is NOT suitable for beginners, both the river and hill trail is far more physically demanding in often confusing and vague jungle and river trekking trails and should only be attempted with an experienced guide.

Terentang Falls 3

Head to Senawang town and proceed to Tmn Tunku Jaafar. Cross the bridge and take the exit to the Taman Sena / Sena Parc junction. (Image 1) Proceed along the quiet housing road till arriving close to the trail head.(Image 2) Opposite the houses there is a small empty clearing of land with plenty of parking spaces. Park without obstructing local residences access and passage. Proceed by foot from here on out.

Follow the oil palm estate path and at the 1st junction (Image 3.), visitors have the option to pick the approach. Follow the left junction to take the hill trail. This hill trail goes directly to Terentang Fall 3 bypassing the lower falls. This trail is easier and faster and would be the recommended trail. For adventurous visitors, follow the right junction to take the river trekking trail. River trekking will be slower but visitors who enjoy dipping their feet in the refreshing waters will be well rewarded.

Hill Trail
The hill trail shares the same beginning trail as Bukit Ayer Paroi but at the next junction turn right heading south-east. (north-east is towards the mountain) Follow this semi-clear trail where visitors will reach the 1st stream crossing. (Image 4.) Head uphill following the visible trail where visitors will reach a ridge trail with resam ferns. The trail is still visible but fast growing resam ferns may obscure sections of the trail. At the end of the resam trail, visitors will merge into a jungle trail (Image 5.) Follow the jungle trail the rest of the way around the slopes of the hillside to reach the waterfall.

River Trek
After taking the right turn for the river trek trail, keep right at the next junction near the pylon towers. (The left is to Dara Falls) Follow the oil palm plantation path and cross to the next valley down. At the lowest point of the valley is a stream. Hop down to the stream to start river trekking following the river. DO NOT follow the seemingly clear path up the hill on the right side of the river. The trail is overgrown with thick bush and resam. If visitors pay attention, you may spot that there are markers impaled into the stone or sand during the river trek trail. There are not regularly spaced so do not expect to rely on them heavily, but still useful as a confirmation guide. After a good distance of river trekking, the Terentang Falls 1 (which is also an old water catchment dam) will be in sight.(Image 6.)
There is a campsite clearing upriver some distance away from the waterfall. (Image 7.) Continue river trekking upriver where Terentang Falls 2 is found.(Image 8.) This is a stair-steps like cascade fall. Scale up the waterfall where Terentang Falls 3 will be found a short distance away.

To return, use one of the available trails. Hill Trail is advised.

Exploration Notes : Further exploration upriver have not been attempted. Not entirely out of the question that there are possible falls.
