Gading Falls consist of 3 documented waterfall levels. Each waterfall is of a different type. The 1st waterfall is a segmented type waterfall with a fan spread on the left and a powerful focused cascade on the right section. The second waterfall is a plunge type waterfall. It has a 2-tier drop into a trapezoid shaped deep pool. The third waterfall is a cascade type waterfall over a large rock surface.
The first 2 waterfalls are relatively easy to reach and in close proximity to each other with visible forest trails. The 3rd fall however, is significantly deeper in and a lot more challenging which requires a mix of river trekking & bushwhacking. A number of smaller cascade falls have also been documented along the trail between the 2nd and 3rd fall.
This waterfall is NOT suitable for beginners to attempt due to the unmarked & vague jungle trails. Visitors are highly encouraged to engage a guide who is familiar with the region should they wish to visit all the waterfall levels.
Lata Gading Falls 1
Head to Tanjung Malim as the nearest landmark town. The trailhead of Gading Falls start from Selangor side of the river but entry into the region is from Perak side. From Tanjung Malim town there is a left junction (here) going in to Kg Simpang Empat Dalam. The village road inside is tarred but can be narrow with several branch junctions that is pretty confusing. Deeper in, visitors will encounter an important junction which will direct visitors to either Perak or Selangor border side roads. Keep right on this junction (Image 1.) and proceed to a riverside resort called Teratak River View. There are some parking spaces beside the river before the resort. Ensure to park responsibly to avoid being an inconvenience to others. Proceed by foot from here on out.
Walk pass the resort and follow the main road for roughly about 680m where visitors will arrive at a T-junction. Take the right junction to proceed towards Sg. Gading. The trail will then lead to a bridge. There is a right junction before the bridge. Do NOT cross the bridge and take this right path. Following this path, visitors will arrive at the border of the forest reserve where Gading Falls 1 is visible. There is a rocky side trail on the left where visitors can decent down to the river to visit the waterfall. The waterfall does not have a sizeable pool for swimming with large rocks scattered along the river. To proceed to the second waterfall, scale back up to continue along the main trail.
The trail continues on the right side of the stream where it will pass a water catchment weir. Follow the visible trail that continues deeper in where Gading Falls 2 is found.(Image 2)

To proceed to Gading Falls 3, visitors will have to continue on the right side of the river where bushwhacking is needed. There is no clear trail and it is a mix of riverside trail and river trekking when there are obstacles that cannot be circumvented. There are several notable landmarks that visitors will encounter along the way documented below. Visitors will find themselves near Gading Falls 3 when finally reaching a wide cascade fall in Image 3.

Exploration Notes : The river upstream have not been explored, based on topo there could be possible falls.
