Pencait Fall
Pencait Fall is a wide and very powerful block waterfall on the main stream of Sungai Bertau. Its width and sheer water volume is an impressive sight. While it has a tempting pool, the current is strong and the edges of the pool is cluttered with large rocks. Visitors must practice caution and not venture too deep to avoid untoward incidents. Access to this region is the biggest challenge to visit this waterfall as the roads are in bad shape which requires an offroad capable vehicle (preferable with 4 wheel drive) or traveling light like the locals do on motorcycles. The hike itself is not difficult but beginners are not encouraged to attempt this alone.
The access road to the village is off Jalan Tersang - Sg Koyan (Route 1504). There is a google POI marking of the road junction. (4.1172, 101.7781) From here on, it is a straight forward road all the way to a campsite near the waterfall. On google maps, it listed the distance as approximately 30km for this stretch of road. However due to the offroad nature of the road, it is a painstakingly slow and bumpy ordeal which will take about more than an hour to reach. There is also no petrol stations in the interior region, so visitors need to be prepared in advance for both the entry and exit trip.
