Gersay Fall / Air Terjun Kg Lalang
Gersay Fall is a small horsetail waterfall with a medium sized shallow pool. It is a unique waterfall considering it is located in a region of low laying hill range, disconnected from the main Titiwangsa mountains. It has a smaller than average catchment basin which may result in low water volume during dry seasons. The pool is not deep with smooth pebbles forming the bulk of the river bed. This waterfall is suitable for beginners to attempt as a group as the trail is easy but be aware that the oil palm estate and various junctions in-between can be very confusing.
Head to Gesir Tengah as the landmark. At the junction, take the exit to Kg. Lalang.(Image 1) The road access is nicely tarred and leads pass the Kg. Lalang village to the edge of the forest. Visitors are advised to park at a small clearing here without obstructing the road and hike by foot instead. Parking spaces are limited. Ensure to get permission if parking within the land of local villagers. From here on the road access is offroad, beyond the village boundaries is a section of rocky hill climb that will be challenging for sedan cars to pass.
Often this type of relatively easy to reach waterfall will be visited by individuals who have very poor civic responsibility. Visitors are encouraged to bring a plastic bag along to help remove and reduce rubbish left by such people. Thank you~
