Kedongdong Falls is a single drop fan/punchbowl type waterfall. It features a large and deep pool with considerable current. To reach the waterfalls, visitors will have to hike a beginner friendly trail starting from the recreational park of the Kedongdong river that is located alongside the road from Batang Kali to Gohtong Jaya head to Genting Highlands. The recreational park is a popular place during the weekends for family picnics with basic amenities. There are some food stalls, a children playground, shelters and toilet facilities. The river water is clean and there are beautiful cascades along the river. Visitors are advised to pay attention and practice caution to any change in the weather as dangerous flash floods and river surges here is not uncommon. The trail is not difficult (thou slightly technical) and reasonably clear, making this waterfall suitable for beginners.

Lata Kedongdong Fall

Head to Batang Kali town as the landmark. Visitors have to use the Batang Kali side access road at the moment as further up closer to Gohtong Jaya the road is closed due to the Dec 2022 landslide incident. At the traffic light junction, turn into Jln Batang Kali - Genting Highlands.(Image 1) Proceed along the main road to the recreational park entrance. The recreational park can be crowded during the weekends, parking space may not accommodate the volume and vehicles can be seen parking alongside the road shoulder. Park responsibly without obstructing others.

There is a clear trail from the parking to the waterfall. On the right a cemented flight of stairs will lead visitors on a well trodden trail to the waterfall. The trail on the right of the river is ribbon marked at intervals quite obviously and spilt junctions eventually lead to the same path and destination. The trail is not technical and only has small creek crossings but parts of it can be challenging for hiking first-timers. Beginner friendly but younger visitors will require supervision. Visitors will reach a small campsite where the waterfall is in sight in around 25mins or less.

The waterfall comes as a reward with a huge pool. A small campsite by the riverbank is suitable for camping activities. You can continue the trail to the top of the fall, where you will find a second smaller tier which also features a pool of its own.
